What are the different types of freshwater systems
Freshwater or more appropriately named, Low Chlorine systems come in the following configurations!
- A low salt and ozone chlorinator – There are a few brands to choose from when it comes to freshwater solutions. At GDM Pools we recommend a chlorinator that uses a combination of low salt requirements and an ozone generator. This combines the strong algae killing properties of ozone and the required output of a normal salt chlorinator to give a total freshwater solution!
- Low salt and silver and copper anode – An alternative to ozone and commonly used to help fight algae, are copper and silver anodes. This is a good alternative to ozone, but requires special adjustments and is less forgiving compared to ozone systems! These systems also require the pH of your water to always be in range to avoid staining and metal fallout issues!
- Either of the above systems can utilise minerals or regular pool salt for the production of chlorine
We also recommend these system be combined with a pH doser. A pH doser and sensor system ensures accurate and consistent pH maintenance in your pool, enhancing swimmer comfort, protecting equipment, and optimising sanitiser efficiency. It reduces chemical usage, saves time, and promotes consistent water quality, making pool maintenance easier and more efficient.
